  • “User” refers to any individual or entity accessing the Platform, including clients seeking legal services and lawyers offering services.
  • “Services” refers to the legal service matching, consultation facilitation, document drafting, and related services offered through the Platform.
  • “Lawyer” refers to a legal professional registered on the Platform who holds a valid Bar Council of India enrollment.

3. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to use our Platform.
  • By using our services, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.

4. Nature of Services

4.1 EasyVakil Is a Marketplace Platform

EasyVakil is a technology platform that connects users with independent, verified lawyers. EasyVakil is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice directly. All legal advice, opinions, and services are provided by independent lawyers registered on our platform.

4.2 No Attorney-Client Relationship with EasyVakil

Your use of the Platform does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and EasyVakil. An attorney-client relationship is formed only between you and the lawyer you engage through the Platform.

4.3 Lawyer Verification

We verify that lawyers on our platform hold valid Bar Council enrollment. However, we do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or outcome of legal services provided by any lawyer.

5. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. User Obligations

You agree NOT to:

  • Provide false or misleading information.
  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
  • Harass, abuse, or threaten lawyers or other users.
  • Attempt to circumvent the Platform to engage lawyers directly for the purpose of avoiding Platform fees.
  • Upload malicious software or interfere with Platform functionality.
  • Scrape, copy, or reproduce Platform content without written permission.

7. Lawyer Obligations

Lawyers on the Platform agree to:

  • Maintain valid Bar Council enrollment and professional indemnity insurance (if applicable).
  • Provide services with professional competence and diligence.
  • Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with the Bar Council of India Rules.
  • Not solicit clients outside the Platform in violation of the Bar Council of India advertising rules.
  • Respond to client queries within the timeframes specified on the Platform.

8. Fees and Payments

  • Service fees are displayed on the Platform before you confirm a booking.
  • Payments are processed through our third-party payment gateway.
  • EasyVakil charges a platform fee/commission, which is included in the displayed price.
  • All fees are in Indian Rupees (INR) and inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

9. Intellectual Property

  • All content on the Platform (text, graphics, logos, software) is owned by EasyVakil or its licensors and protected under Indian copyright and trademark laws.
  • Users retain ownership of content they submit but grant EasyVakil a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use such content for operating the Platform.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • EasyVakil shall not be liable for any legal advice, services, or outcomes provided by lawyers on the Platform.
  • EasyVakil shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that:

  • The Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.
  • Legal services obtained through the Platform will achieve any specific outcome.
  • Information on the Platform is always accurate or up to date.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless EasyVakil, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Dispute Resolution

  • Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of India.
  • Jurisdiction: Courts in Ernakulam, Kerala shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
  • Arbitration: Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through mediation. If mediation fails, the dispute shall be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.

14. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
